My first pet.

I was at lunch yesterday with Aby Lee when she started talking about a beta fish that she bought last week. As she was explaining his color and name I began thinking of how awesome it would be to own a pet. I did have a couple dogs growing up.. but the first my brother picked out and got to name.. and the second is definitely my mom's hands down. Phil (my brother) has also had a guinea pig, about 16 gerbils and an aquarium of fish as well over the years. Apparentally, I was content with looking and playing with his animals that I never begged for one of my own. So I am 21... why not finally own my first pet?
So as Aby is talking I blurt out.. "I want one too!" and the rest was downhill from there..
We went to walmart last night and I picked the most beautiful guy I could find and rocks that matched him of course. The hard part was picking out a name... who would of thought the name would take us 3 hours to come up with. I know I wanted the middle name (yes, middle name) to be Rainn from Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office).. but the first name was harder.. Aby Lee finally recommended Atticus.. and with much thought.. Atticus Rainn Welch became his official name... and he became my first little pet!
I think it rings nicely...
