"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12
This spoke to me this morning as I was thinking on God's word and enjoying the beautiful morning. Hope. hmmm... Do we ever just wholeheartedly hope for something with a heart of joy? Or is it more like.. "Man.. I will be so excited if this really does happen... but..." Yeah.. we worry.. well at least my family does.. I think we should be diagnosed, but as of right now its not a disease. Give it a couple years, I am sure scientists will dream up some new "problems" with the human mind..
but i digress.. that's for another blog.
So I wonder the last time I hoped for something in a joyful way? I guess we are scared of getting our hopes so high that when they crash there is no way of recovering them.
But thats when the next line hits us... "patient in affliction"... there comes my patience problem once more! You notice it doesn't say.. run from the pain or to fix the pain..
but to be patient when something goes wrong.
And how do we do this? That would be the next line...
Fill our hearts with the faith of a child.. and pray to a God who knows all and won't let us down. It may not make sense now, but oh buddy, there is a reason why things happen the way they do. We just have to keep the faith, and try to live as if joy is the only emotion we know...
now.. I'm going to watch a movie.. I'm thinking "funny face"... a little audrey hepburn and fred astaire to end a greay day... I highly recommend it :)

We have to just keep our eyes fixed on the amazing character of God, instead of the crappy circumstances all around us....the circumstances wiill change, but God is always good!!!
