When liz gave us our assignment in digital imaging, and it was about finding the beauty in the mundane and maybe even ugly.. I was pretty excited. I love these opportunities to capture the essence of a person/object/animal/scene that looks ordinary at first but later shows off the truth that the picture holds. So I was looking forward to it. We had to bring an ugly object to class, and I grabbed an old necklace that was pretty in its own vintagy way- but nothing beautiful- and headed to class. We discovered that we would be switching objects and I ended up with an object that I am almost convinced is impossible to beautify... No one could even figure out what species it is.. but I am for sure it is an animal of some sort. Someone thought a platypus.. I thought a crocodile... so it became known as a crocopus. And a stuffed animal? Really? This assignment is going to be harder than I thought. but when it comes to photography, I'm usually up for a challenge...

I'll keep you updated..
