sweet relief

The fish falls from the bowl,
shocked
shaken
frightened.
A dry air surrounds her little body and begins peeling away the wetness
It starts at her fins and slowly creeps up her body.
Dryness seeping into her scales...
deep within her heart,
suffocating her lungs that denies her breath.
etching a poem of despair in her soul.
a pain shoots through her body in one last attempt of her own.
She stops moving and lays paralyzed.
Wishing it would all be over.
But she knows it won't be that easy.
And she gives in to her helplessness,
and by giving in,
a cool, wet hand cradles her body tenderly.
Her heart is still weathered,
but hope brightens her large fish eyes.
Lights shine brighter,
colors more vivid,
dancing before her gaping mouth.
and then...
ever so peacefully,
she is slipped into liquid that sends shivers down her fin.
Her heart releases the worry and anxiety.
Gills breathe in sweet relief.
Exhaustion tells her she has been through much in one day
Her heart reinforces that she is being held tightly by the Unseen.
When she slipped from her bowl,
His love supported her.
When Anxiety was great within her,
His consolation brought joy to her soul.
Joy of a thousand dancing stars trailing through the night sky.
Joy of a little fish who fell from her bowl,
and let herself be carried into a sweet relief.

(psalm 94:18-19)

Em I love how creative you are! I seriously got blessed to be with the most talented girl in the world! I really like how you switched up the idea of instead drowning in water, suffocating in air and yet still incorporating part of the Psalms in it :) I like how easily you can put into words the way God loves us and never leaves us and how you are a constant reminder about that through your writings. It def shows that the Lord is at the center of your life and you constantly are reminded of His grace. Thanks for writing and sharing again Em :) you are one amazing godly woman :)
